How Long Does It Take Providence Auto Body to Fix My Vehicle?

We often get asked how long it will take to fix a customer’s vehicle. It is always a case by case issue. Our commitment to excellence and lifetime guarantee ensures that your vehicle is fixed to maximum efficiency. Depending on the severity of your vehicle’s issue depends on the time it will take to repair. It is never a “one size fits all” solution.

The goal is safety and quality. Doing things to simply “get it done quickly” will often lead to sloppy work. That’s not how we do things at Providence Auto Body.

These are some of the factors that influence the amount of time required to repair your vehicle:

WEATHER
Hot and cold temperatures affect the way paint dries and cures. Time must also be allowed for solvents to escape.

REINSPECTIONS
If hidden damage is discovered while repairs are being performed, we must stop, notify the insurance company and wait until their adjuster has had an opportunity to inspect the damage.

PREVIOUS REPAIRS
If your vehicle was previously repaired in the same general area, it is often necessary to correct the old repairs in order to guarantee the work we perform.

COLOR MATCH
All colors are slightly different. Even a new vehicle will require color tinting. Our technicians often take two or more hours to arrive at the correct color match.

PARTS
The repairs will be delayed if hidden damage requires additional parts, or if the factory is unable to send us the part, causing it to be placed on back order.

REASSEMBLY
We take great pains to prevent over spray and future paint peeling. All parts are removed from areas to be painted and blended. Our technicians reinstall these parts during the reassembly process. These steps require care and time, but are necessary to protect your vehicle’s resale value and bring it to pre-accident condition.

WARRANTY:
All repairs performed by Providence Auto Body Inc. are GUARANTEED for as long as you own your vehicle. We realize it inconvenient to be without your vehicle. We promise to return your vehicle to you as quickly as possible without compromising the quality of repairs in order to meet a target date.

Providence Auto Body looks forward to delivering your vehicle to you in top condition after your service with us.

Been in a Collision? Read this Car Accident Checklist

Car accidents are shocking and sometimes traumatic events, but it is crucial to keep your wits about you and handle the situation in a rational, systematic manner. Controlling how the aftermath unfolds, including the issue of insurance liability and the speed with which you can get your auto functional and back on the road again, depends in part on how well you manage your actions and collect information in the first hour after the accident.

Keeping a checklist on hand to remind yourself of the necessary steps and stay focused at a stressful moment is key to successfully managing the situation. Two major benefits to be reaped include a faster return to normality and monetary savings. All of your collision concerns will be smoothed by contacting Providence Auto Body as soon as possible. We provide both high quality, cutting edge auto body repair and car refinishing services designed to benefit the driver rather than the insurance company, and complete handling of the claim process to spare you the paperwork and to make certain you are treated fairly by your insurer.

The Post-Accident Checklist

  1. Immediately after the accident, determine if you are in any danger and take steps to stay safe if necessary. However, if there is any sign of burning in either of the vehicles, such as visible smoke or fire, move a short distance away in case a gas tank explodes. If there is no sign of fire but the other driver seems to be enraged to the point of aggression, safety may be best served by remaining in your car with the doors locked until the police arrive.
  2. Call the police and report the accident, and inform them if there are any injuries to you or other people at the scene. Give a concise, calm account of the event, remaining as neutral and accurate as possible. Provide location information and your name and cell number.
  3. While waiting for the police, examine the scene and memorize what you see. If you have a camera, including a cell phone camera, take pictures from multiple angles. Do not discuss the accident with other people on the scene. Do not state that you were at fault.
  4. Collect information about the other party involved in the accident, and provide them with your information in return. Keeping a printout or two with this data in your glove compartment along with your insurance papers helps to speed the process if you are involved in a collision. Personal information to collect includes the name, address, and telephone number of the other driver. Get the insurer’s company name, address, and telephone number, plus the policy number, car license plate number, and VIN (vehicle identification number – this last is critical to quick, effective claim filing).
  5. When the police arrive, give them your account of the accident as accurately as possible, without directly assigning or accepting blame. File a car accident report that corresponds to your verbal account. If possible, take notes to give yourself a record of what happened, for later reference. Keep your account succinct, accurate, and as non-emotional as possible. Do not leave the scene until you have spoken to the police.
  6. Contact Providence Auto Body to make arrangements for repairs and, if necessary, alternate transportation. We can also handle filing and negotiating your insurance claim for you.

The #1 Providence Auto Body Repair Shop

Following a collision in the Providence area, or anywhere in Rhode Island, engaging the services of an auto body shop dedicated to excellence, attention to detail, and customer satisfaction is the best way to get your car functional and back on the road as quickly as possible. With our unsurpassed commitment to top quality work, plus our thirty years’ experience, Providence Auto Body is the premier choice among auto repair shops in the Ocean State for quick, outstandingly effective car restoration after an accident.

Though a car may appear to be a mass of crumpled sheet metal, broken glass, and bent frame pieces after a bad impact, it is often possible to restore it to its original state. Taking a systematic, analytical approach, using top quality materials straight from the manufacturer, and working thoroughly, skilled technicians can rebuild a damaged car to look as good as new.

Providence Auto Body goes the extra mile to ensure that your car is refurbished to the highest standards. We work hard in many ways to make our shop your number one choice for auto body repair services, including:

  • Our 100% guarantee covers all repairs that we make to your vehicle, to the end of its useful life. We use parts from the manufacturer, rather than cheap, generic parts, despite insurance companies’ preference for lower quality components which cost them less. Using OEM parts ensures a good fit, safe operation, improved appearance, and maximum durability.
  • We use correct repair procedures that offer solid, reliable results, and never cut corners on quality. Other shops may engage in slapdash repairs, such as poorly welded joints and seams, especially in places where the welding cannot be seen. By contrast, we complete every step of a repair to the highest standards of workmanship, using the latest, most proven methods.
  • Every vehicle brought to us after a collision is examined thoroughly to ensure there is no hidden damage that might cause problems later. Frame alignment is carefully checked against factory standards, using modern precision techniques such as computerized laser measuring systems. If we discover misalignment, pulling is carefully planned to ensure the vehicle’s frame or unibody is straightened correctly, even if the distortion is complex and multidirectional.
  • The many other techniques needed for specific repair tasks are handled with the same professionalism and wholehearted focus on quality.
  • Our work philosophy is founded on the guiding rule that we are in business to provide complete satisfaction to you, our client, rather than to a corner-cutting insurance company bureaucrat who would prefer an inferior, haphazard repair. We believe in your right to receive the finest auto body repairs that human skill can provide, and work tirelessly to supply you with these first-rate results.
